Job summary

The Kroger Family of Companies is hiring a part-time Cashier/Checker in Scottsdale, AZ. You will greet customers, process transactions at the checkout, and ensure accuracy while delivering friendly service.

Operate the POS system, follow store policies, and maintain a clean, welcoming environment. You’ll work in a fast-paced setting, uphold safety standards, and help customers find items and answer questions.

Qualifications

• Knowledge of basic math (counting, addition, subtraction).
• Prior experience as a Bagger or Courtesy Clerk.

Responsibilities

• Cashier/Checker greets, engages and assists customers.
• Process customer transactions quickly, accurately and efficiently.
• Understand POS system and handle tenders (Cash, Checks, Credit, Debit, SNAP EBT, WIC, coupons) according to policy.
• Adhere to cash handling limits and loss prevention policies.
• Comply with restrictions on sale items (Alcohol, Tobacco, DVDs).
• Report pricing discrepancies to the Scan Coordinator.
• Follow policies for postage stamps, gift cards and coupons.
• Stay current with ads and promotions.
• Adhere to food safety regulations and guidelines.
• Support safety programs and report unsafe conditions.
• Inspect equipment and report repairs.
• Create a welcoming environment by answering product questions.
• Follow all laws and company guidelines.
• Work cooperatively in a high-paced environment.
• Manage conflicts calmly and professionally.
• Maintain honesty with customer and business information.
• Follow directions and seek help when needed.
• Assist minors, individuals with special needs, and older adults as needed.
• Perform essential functions with or without accommodation.
