Job summary

Kroger is seeking a part-time cashier/checker to deliver outstanding customer service at our Surprise, AZ store. You will greet customers, process transactions, and operate the POS system with accuracy while following company policies on cash handling, loyalty offers, stamps, gift cards, and coupons.

The role requires basic math knowledge and prior experience as a bagger or courtesy clerk is a plus. You will work on-site in a fast-paced environment with a focus on safety and guest satisfaction.

Qualifications

• Knowledge of basic math (counting, addition, subtraction).
• Prior experience as a Bagger or Courtesy Clerk is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Greet, engage and assist customers in-store.
• Process customer transactions quickly, accurately and efficiently.
• Operate the POS system and handle tenders (Cash, Checks, Credit, Debit, SNAP EBT, WIC, coupons).
• Adhere to cash handling limits and loss-prevention policies.
• Follow guidelines for restricted sale items (Alcohol, Tobacco, DVDs).
• Report pricing discrepancies and follow policies for stamps, gift cards, and coupons.
• Stay current with ads and promotions; adhere to food safety regulations.
• Support safety programs and identify unsafe conditions to management.
• Inspect equipment and request repairs when needed.
• Provide friendly service to all customers, including minors and seniors.
