Job summary

The Kroger Family of Companies is hiring at 3246 E Bell Rd, Phoenix, AZ 85032 for a Customer Service/Cashier role. You will assist customers, operate the register, process refunds and exchanges, maintain the checkstand area, and support store operations with a focus on courtesy and accuracy.

Candidates should have a HS diploma or GED, at least 6 months cashier experience, and be able to work weekends and overtime.

Qualifications

High school diploma or GED or equivalent.
Six months cashier experience to work at Customer Service Desk.
Minimum age 18 (19 in Idaho/19 in Alaska if selling tobacco).
Ability to pass drug test.
Ability to work in a fast-paced environment.
Ability to work weekends regularly, and overtime as needed.
Ability to organize/prioritize tasks/projects.
Knowledge of company policies, procedures, and organizational structure.
Related retail experience.

Responsibilities

Deliver and encourage other associates to deliver excellent customer service.
Perform cashier functions, including open/close register and tender transactions.
Maintain price discrepancy logs and perform file maintenance.
Keep checkstand area clean and orderly in accordance with housekeeping standards.
Answer telephones and assist customers as needed.
Comply with corporate policies and follow company initiatives.
Verify EAS tags are deactivated/removed at point of sale.
Respond to EAS pedestal activations and verify tag removal when necessary.
Maintain all store accounting functions and prepare bank deposits of excess funds.
