Job summary

Dollar General is seeking an Assistant Store Manager to help maintain a clean, customer-first store. Under the Store Manager, you will supervise employees, manage merchandise presentation, deposits, and store paperwork while protecting assets and reducing losses.

You will perform stocking and cashiering duties, support scheduling and training, and help ensure cashier accountability and planogram compliance in a fast-paced environment.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent strongly preferred.
• One year of experience in a retail environment and six months supervisory experience preferred.

Responsibilities

• Provide superior customer service leadership; greet and assist customers, and operate cash register and scanner to itemize the customer's purchase.
• Open and close the store a minimum of two days per week.
• Assist Store Manager with scheduling employees and training, safety meetings, and policy compliance.
• Follow processes to manage merchandise, including receiving, stocking, and displays.
• Maintain accurate inventory levels by controlling damages, markdowns, scanning, and paperwork.
• Assist with planograms and merchandising presentation.
• Ensure cash control procedures and refunds/overrides, cash deposits.
