Job summary

Dollar General seeks an Assistant Store Manager to help run a clean, customer-focused store. You will assist the Store Manager with supervision, merchandising, paperwork, and deposits, while performing stocking and cashier duties to maximize profitability and reduce losses.

You’ll support scheduling, training, security, and policy adherence, and help maintain planograms and stock integrity. This role requires teamwork and a commitment to store performance.

Qualifications

• Must have high school diploma or equivalent.
• One year of retail experience and six months supervisory experience preferred.
• Strong customer service and communication skills.
• Ability to lift up to 40 pounds and stand for long periods.

Responsibilities

• Provide superior customer service leadership at the cashier and sales floor.
• Open and close the store at least two days per week.
• Assist with scheduling, training, and safety meetings for employees.
• Manage merchandise flow including receiving, stocking, and displays.
• Maintain inventory accuracy and control damages, markdowns, and security.
• Assist with store management in the Store Manager's absence.
