Job summary

Goodwill Industries of the Valleys in Rocky Mount, VA is seeking a cashier/retail associate to provide world-class customer service, operate the POS, and maintain a clean, welcoming store environment.

You will greet customers, bag merchandise, stock shelves, assist donors, help with promotions, and follow safety procedures while supporting the mission of empowering individuals and strengthening families.

Qualifications

• Ability to read, write, and communicate verbally.
• Ability to perform basic math skills.
• Must be able to work independently.
• Ability to develop and maintain effective working relationships with managers, team members, customers, and donors.

Responsibilities

• Greet customers in person or by phone and provide friendly, courteous service.
• Operate the cash register/POS to process sales accurately.
• Maintain clean, organized front of store, including cash wrap area and displays.
• Assist with merchandising, stocking shelves, and rotating merchandise.
• Support safety procedures and report hazards to management.
• Assist in training new cashiers and volunteers as needed.
• Provide strong customer service to maximize donor and shopper satisfaction.
