Job summary

GOODWILL INDUSTRIES OF THE VALLEYS INC seeks a full-time cashier at our Salem, VA store. You will greet customers, process sales at the POS, handle cash accurately, and support store operations to provide excellent service.

Responsibilities include maintaining clean cash wrap, stocking, assisting in promotions, and upholding safety and security practices. Prior retail or cash handling experience preferred; training provided.

Qualifications

• Must read, write, and communicate verbally.
• Ability to perform basic math.
• Able to work independently.
• Develop and maintain effective working relationships with managers, team members, customers, and donors.
• Teamwork and a positive attitude are required.
• Perform essential functions with or without accommodation.

Responsibilities

• Greet customers in person or by phone in a prompt, friendly manner.
• Operate the cash register/POS with accurate pricing and codes.
• Ensure proper cash handling and apply promotions/discounts correctly.
• Assist with the Round Up program and store promotions.
• Keep cash wrap area clean and merchandise neatly displayed.
• Support safety, security, and loss-prevention efforts.
