Job summary

Dollar General is seeking an Assistant Store Manager to uphold a customer-first store environment. You will assist with supervision, merchandise presentation, deposits, and store operations to maximize profitability and reduce losses.

Responsibilities include leading staff, scheduling, training, and ensuring policy compliance, while maintaining planograms and financial integrity. This role supports the Store Manager and may require lifting and occasional driving.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent strongly preferred.
• One year of experience in a retail environment and six months supervisory experience preferred.
• Strong interpersonal and communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Provide superior customer service leadership and operate cash register to itemize purchases.
• Open and close the store at least two days per week.
• Assist with scheduling, training, and safety meetings for employees.
• Manage merchandise flow: receiving, stocking, displays and planograms.
• Maintain accurate inventory, control damages and process deposits.
• Ensure cashier accountability and cash-handling procedures.
• Assist in store leadership in the Store Manager's absence.
