Job summary

Dollar General is seeking an Assistant Store Manager to support daily store operations and lead a customer-first team. You will help supervise staff, manage merchandise, handle deposits, and ensure profitability while protecting assets.

Qualifications

• Effective interpersonal, written and oral communication skills.

• Ability to read and interpret documents such as diagrams, safety rules and procedures manuals.
• Mathematical calculations including percentages.
• Cash register operation and report generation.
• Knowledge of cash handling and deposit control.

Responsibilities

• Provide superior customer service leadership; greet and assist customers, and operate cash register and scanner to itemize the customer's purchase.
• Open and close the store a minimum of two days per week.
• Assist Store Manager with scheduling employees, providing training, conducting safety meetings, and ensuring policy compliance.
• Follow processes to manage merchandise including receiving, stocking, restocking and displays.
• Assist in maintaining inventory levels by controlling damages, markdowns, and paperwork.
• Assist in planogram implementation and merchandise presentation.
• Assist in cash cashier accountability, deposits and store financial integrity.
• Assist with store operations in the Store Manager's absence.
