Job summary

Goodwill Houston is seeking a friendly, customer-focused cashier to provide high-quality service and accurate checkout experiences. You will itemize purchases, process transactions, and assist shoppers with program enrollments while keeping the sales floor inviting and organized.

Responsibilities include greeting customers, operating POS systems, promoting the Loyalty Rewards Program, keeping areas clean, stocking shelves, and supporting safety and loss prevention processes on a daily basis.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent preferred.
• Ability to perform basic math functions (i.e., addition, subtraction, multiplication, and division).
• Ability to communicate effectively and interact well with diverse customers.
• Retail sales experience is preferred.
• Must have reliable transportation.

Responsibilities

• Greet each customer and assist with questions to create a positive shopping experience.
• Operate cash registers and POS systems to process transactions and collect payments.
• Inform customers about Loyalty Rewards Program and help enroll.
• Promote Change Round Up to support GWH’s mission and programs.
• Move merchandise to the sales floor and ensure proper product flow.
• Maintain a full, organized, and visually appealing sales floor.
• Perform housekeeping and ensure spaces are clean, safe, and uncluttered.
• Assist in safety and loss prevention; report incidents promptly.
• Perform other duties as assigned by management.
