Job summary

Goodwill Houston is seeking a friendly Cashier to support the Donated Goods Program by handling checkout transactions, answering questions, and ensuring a positive customer experience. You will operate the POS system, process payments, and assist customers with loyalty rewards enrollment.

You will also promote Change Round Up, maintain a tidy, welcoming sales floor, and help keep the cash wrap area organized and safe for both customers and staff.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent preferred.
• Basic math functions (addition, subtraction, multiplication, division).
• Effective communication with diverse individuals.
• Excellent customer service skills.
• Retail sales experience preferred.
• Reliable transportation required.

Responsibilities

• Greet customers and assist with questions about store operations, merchandise, and programs.
• Operate electronic cash registers and POS systems and process payments accurately.
• Inform customers about the Loyalty Rewards Program and enroll them when appropriate.
• Promote Change Round Up to support GWH missions and programs.
• Keep the sales floor stocked, organized, and attractive for easy shopping.
• Maintain cleanliness and organization in the cash wrap area and surrounding zones.
