Databricks is seeking a Forward Deployed Engineer in San Francisco to own architecture and lead design decisions for data & AI deployments. You will deliver end-to-end systems spanning data engineering, AI, and application development while integrating with client systems and smoothing adoption of the platform.

This hands-on, customer-facing role emphasizes engineering excellence, adaptability, and measurable business impact. Travel up to 20% may be required.

Qualifikationen

• 6+ years experience in data engineering, data platforms & analytics, or software engineering.
• Comfortable writing code in Python, Scala, or JavaScript/TypeScript.
• Experience with two or more Cloud ecosystems (AWS, Azure, GCP) and expertise in at least one.
• Deep experience with distributed computing with Apache Spark and knowledge of Spark runtime internals.
• Familiarity with CI/CD for production deployments.
• Working knowledge of MLOps, ML/AI models and AI APIs.
• Design and deployment of end-to-end data architectures that combine data pipelines, ML/AI models, and UI.
• Experience delivering technical projects with scope, timelines and outcomes.
• Strong documentation and white-boarding skills.
• Experience with enterprise clients and stakeholder management.
• Databricks Certification.

Aufgaben

• Lead production-grade customer projects by delivering reference architectures and data pipelines.
• Guide strategic customers through end-to-end design, build and deployment of big data and AI apps.
• Collaborate with engagement managers to scope technical delivery work with customer input.
• Own architecture decisions, ensuring secure, scalable solutions aligned with Databricks best practices.
• Embed with customer teams and liaise with engineers, architects and support to deliver engagement goals.
• Provide product and support feedback to accelerate issue resolution for engagements.
• Engage with stakeholders from ICs to executives to deeply understand challenges and impact.
• Contribute accelerators, frameworks, and best practices to scale impact across accounts.
