Job summary

Databricks seeks a Forward Deployed Engineer to build and productionize data and AI solutions on the Databricks platform. You will own architecture, lead design decisions, and implement end-to-end systems spanning data engineering, AI, and application development with a customer-facing focus.

This role is hands-on, billable, and requires collaboration with engineering, product, and customer teams. Travel up to 20% is expected; US citizenship and clearance eligibility are required; Databricks

Qualifications

5+ years in data engineering, data platforms, analytics, or software engineering.
Proficient in Python/Scala/JavaScript with modern frameworks.
Experience with distributed computing, especially Spark.
Familiar with CI/CD for production deployments.
Knowledge of MLOps, ML/AI models and APIs.
Ability to design end-to-end data architectures.

Responsibilities

Lead production-grade data and AI projects, building reference architectures and data pipelines.
Guide customers through end-to-end design, build, and deployment of big data and AI applications.
Work with engagement managers to scope technical delivery with customer input.
Own architecture decisions, ensuring security, scalability, and best practices.
Collaborate with engineering, product, and customer teams to meet needs.
Provide feedback to product and support teams to improve engagements.
