British Swim School of Palatine-Lake Zurich is hiring a Customer Experience Specialist (Deck Ambassador) to work poolside and ensure an exceptional guest experience. You will help with deck setup, greet families, answer questions about accounts and progress, and assist instructors as needed.

The role emphasizes friendly communication, reliability, and a passion for community impact, with paid training and opportunities for advancement within a kid-friendly environment.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent required.
• Enthusiastic personality with strong customer interaction skills.
• Excellent interpersonal communication and organizational skills.
• Customer service experience: 1 year.

Responsibilities

• Set up and break down pool deck before/after shifts.
• Check water chemistry and temperature prior to lessons.
• Welcome students and parents to the pool deck.
• Answer questions about accounts, progress, or programs.
• Assist swim instructors and managers during lessons.
• Post media content and monitor social media channels.
• Report to Business Owner and assist with other needs.
• Work a Tue–Thu 3:00–8:00pm and Sat 9:00–2:00pm schedule.

The Position:

The Customer Experience Specialist, known as a "Deck Ambassador" works poolside at our swim school. This position plays a critical role in providing an excellent customer experience.

Typical Responsibilities:

• Setting up and breaking down the pool deck area before and after each shift.


• Checking water chemistry and temperature prior to swim lessons.


• Welcoming students and parents/guardians to the pool deck area.


• Answering customers' questions about their account, their child’s progress, or about the program.


• Assist swim instructors and managers when needed during swim lessons.


• Post media content and monitor social media platforms.


• Report to Business Owner, assist with other business needs


• Work a schedule that typically includes Tuesday, Wednesday, Thursday (3:00 - 8:00pm) and Saturday (9:00am - 2:00pm)

Minimum Qualifications:

• High school diploma or equivalent


• Enthusiastic personality - enjoy interacting with customers (parents and children)


• Excellent interpersonal communication and organizational skills


• Customer service skills: 1 year


• Have a responsible and professional demeanor


• Must complete all required British Swim School specific training and testing

Additional Qualifications:

• Swimming experience: 1-2 years beneficial but not required.


• Lifeguarding/First Aid/CPR/AED Certification(s) beneficial (can also be obtained during training)
