Job summary

British Swim School of Palatine-Lake Zurich is seeking individuals to teach swim lessons for children, starting from 3 months old, in a safe and fun setting. You will follow a proven program designed to be gentle, progressive, and engaging.

Eligible candidates enjoy working with kids, can commit to a schedule including weekday evenings and weekend hours, and will receive paid training, uniforms, and opportunities for growth within our Lake Zurich community.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Enthusiastic personality and enjoyment of working with children.
• Comfortable around water; strong swimming skills are a plus but teachable.
• Must maintain certifications and complete Aquatics training.
• CPR/First Aid certifications preferred but can be obtained during training.

Responsibilities

• Teach swim lessons to children, including infants, following an established program.
• Maintain a positive, safe, and fun learning environment during classes.
• Support Aquatics Manager and Owner with program delivery and safety protocols.

Job Responsibilities:

• Teach swim lessons to children, starting at 3 months old, following an established program that is gentle, fun & progressive
• Work a schedule that typically includes Tuesday, Wednesday, Thursday (3:00 - 8:00pm) and Saturday / Sunday (9:00am - 2:00pm)
• Report directly to and support the Aquatics Manager and / or Business Owner

Minimum Qualifications:

• High school diploma, equivalent, or in the process of completion.
• Enthusiastic personality - enjoy working with children
• Comfortable in and around the water. Strong swimming skills are a plus but can be taught and developed!
• Must maintain certifications throughout the length of employment
• Must complete all required British Swim School Aquatics-specific training and testing

Preferred Qualifications:

• Swimming experience: 1-2 years preferred but not required.
• Customer service skills: 1 year preferred but not required.
• Lifeguarding/First Aid/CPR/AED Certification(s) preferred (but can be obtained during training)
