Job summary

Kroger Family of Companies in Ashland, KY is seeking a Customer Service Desk Associate to assist customers, process sales, and uphold the company values of respect, honesty, integrity, diversity, inclusion and safety. You will handle cashier duties, manage refunds, exchanges, money orders, and provide lottery services while keeping the desk and surrounding area neat and compliant with company policies.

Qualified candidates have a high school diploma or GED and at least 6 months cashier

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED (or equivalent).
• Six months cashier experience.
• Must be at least 18 years old (19 where required by law in certain states).
• Ability to pass a drug test.
• Ability to work in a fast-paced environment.
• Ability to work weekends and flexible shifts.
• Ability to organize/prioritize tasks and projects.
• Accuracy and attention to detail.

Responsibilities

• Deliver and encourage other associates to deliver excellent customer service.
• Perform cashier functions: open/close register, ring sales, complete tender transactions, bag merchandise, and produce knowledge of produce codes.
• Complete file maintenance log for price discrepancies.
• Maintain checkstand area cleanliness per housekeeping standards.
• Answer telephones and provide customer support.
• Comply with all corporate policies and promote company initiatives.
• Verify surveillance tags are deactivated or removed at point of sale and respond to activations as needed.
• Maintain all store accounting functions and prepare bank deposits of excess funds.
