Job summary

Kroger is hiring a cashier/checker to create an outstanding customer experience in Yakima, WA. You will greet customers, process transactions using the POS system, and follow policies on cash handling, restricted items, and promotions.

You will maintain a safe, clean store environment, assist with questions, and work effectively in a fast-paced setting to ensure customer satisfaction and compliance with company standards.

Qualifications

• Knowledge of basic math (counting, addition, and subtraction)

Responsibilities

• Greet, engage and assist customers at the check lane.
• Process customer transactions quickly, accurately, and efficiently.
• Understand POS system and handle tender types per policy.
• Follow company guidelines on cash shortages/overages and loss prevention.
• Adhere to guidelines on restricted items (Alcohol, Tobacco, DVDs).
• Report pricing discrepancies to the Scan Coordinator.
• Follow policies for postage stamps, gift cards, and coupons.
• Stay current with ads and promotions.
• Follow food safety regulations and safety procedures.
• Create welcoming environment and answer product questions.
• Work cooperatively in a fast-paced environment.
