Job summary

Kroger is seeking a customer-focused cashier/checker in Salem, VA to greet customers, operate the POS system, and process transactions accurately and efficiently. The role requires adherence to company policies, accuracy with cash handling and participation in loss-prevention measures.

Qualifications

• Knowledge of basic math (counting, addition, and subtraction)

Responsibilities

• Greet, engage and assist customers and maintain a fast, accurate checkout process.
• Operate the POS system, process payments and handle tenders (cash, checks, credit/debit, SNAP EBT, WIC) per policy.
• Monitor cash drawers, prevent shortages/overages and maintain loss prevention practices.
• Follow safety, food safety, store policies, and respond to pricing discrepancies and promotions.
