Job summary

The Kroger family of companies is seeking a friendly Cashier/Checker to greet customers, process transactions, and maintain a clean, welcoming store environment at the Brown Deer location. You will handle multiple tender types, adhere to policy, and support safety and loss prevention programs.

Prior experience as a Bagger or Courtesy Clerk is a plus, with a focus on accuracy, speed, and excellent customer service in a fast-paced setting.

Qualifications

• Knowledge of basic math (counting, addition, and subtraction).
• Experience greeting and assisting customers is beneficial.
• Willingness to follow company policies and procedures.

Responsibilities

• Greet customers and assist with questions to create a welcoming environment.
• Process customer transactions accurately and efficiently at the check lane.
• Understand and operate the POS system and handle tenders per policy.
• Adhere to guidelines on restricted sale items (Alcohol, Tobacco, DVDs).
• Report pricing discrepancies and follow checkout procedures.
• Maintain a clean, safe store area and support loss prevention efforts.
