Job summary

The Kroger Family of Companies is seeking friendly cashiers/checkers to deliver outstanding service and maintain a safe, clean store environment in Ohio. You will greet customers, process transactions, handle multiple payment types, and follow policies to prevent loss while supporting a positive shopping experience.

Prior experience as a bagger or courtesy clerk is preferred. The role emphasizes teamwork, accuracy, and excellent customer interaction in a fast paced setting.

Qualifications

• Knowledge of basic math (counting, addition, subtraction).

Responsibilities

• Greet, engage and assist customers.
• Process customer transactions quickly, accurately, and efficiently.
• Understand and handle various tender types (Cash, Checks, Credit, Debit, SNAP EBT, WIC, coupons).
• Adhere to cash handling limits, loss prevention and restricted sale guidelines (Alcohol, Tobacco, DVDs).
• Report pricing discrepancies and follow policies for stamps, gift cards and coupons.
• Stay current with ads and promote a safe, clean store environment.
• Adhere to all safety, legal and company guidelines; assist in maintaining department standards.
• Provide support to customers of all ages and abilities.
