Job summary

The Kroger Family of Companies is seeking a part-time Cashier/Checker at our Mequon, WI location. You will greet customers, process transactions, and help keep the store safe and welcoming.

Responsibilities include handling multiple tender types, following policies for restricted items, and staying current with ads and promotions. You’ll contribute to a positive shopping experience and support loss prevention efforts in a fast-paced setting.

Qualifications

• Basic math skills required.
• Prior experience as a Bagger or Courtesy Clerk preferred.

Responsibilities

• Greet, engage and assist customers on the sales floor.
• Process customer transactions at the checkout quickly, accurately and efficiently.
• Understand the POS system and handle multiple tender types (cash, checks, credit, debit, SNAP EBT, WIC, rain checks, coupons) per policy.
• Adhere to cash-handling limits and work to minimize loss.
• Follow guidelines for restricted sale items (Alcohol, Tobacco, DVDs).
• Report pricing discrepancies and stay current with ads and promotions.
• Adhere to food safety regulations and safety procedures; identify unsafe conditions and notify management.
• Assist in maintaining a safe, clean, and welcoming environment for customers.
• Provide helpful product information and support to customers, including minors and those with special needs.
