Job summary

Kroger is seeking a Cashier/Checker to create an outstanding customer experience, greet customers, and assist at the check lane. You will process transactions quickly and accurately while handling various tenders and following policy.

Maintain food safety standards, uphold loss prevention practices, and stay aware of ads. Deliver friendly service and a welcoming atmosphere for all customers in a fast-paced store environment.

Qualifications

• Knowledge of basic math (counting, addition, subtraction)

Responsibilities

• Greet, engage and assist customers at the check lane.
• Process customer transactions quickly, accurately and efficiently.
• Understand and operate the POS system and handle varied tenders (Cash, Checks, Credit, Debit, SNAP EBT, WIC, coupons).
• Adhere to company policy on cash handling, shortages/overages, and loss control.
• Follow guidelines for restricted sale items (Alcohol, Tobacco, DVDs).
• Report pricing discrepancies to the Scan Coordinator.
• Follow policies for postage stamps, gift cards, and coupons.
• Stay current with ads and promotions.
• Adhere to food safety regulations and safety procedures.
• Inspect equipment and report repairs to management.
• Provide helpful product information and create a welcoming environment.
• Adhere to local, state and federal laws and company guidelines.
• Work cooperatively in a fast-paced environment and manage conflicts constructively.
• May interact with minors, individuals with special needs, and older adults.
