Job summary

Goodwill Houston is seeking a friendly and reliable Retail Associate to deliver high-quality customer service and handle transactions. You will greet customers, process sales at POS terminals, and encourage participation in the Loyalty Rewards program.

You’ll assist with merchandising, keep the sales floor tidy, and help maintain store safety and cleanliness. The role emphasizes effective communication with diverse customers, basic math skills for checkout, and reliable transportation to support

Qualifications

High school diploma or equivalent preferred.
Ability to perform basic math functions (addition, subtraction, multiplication, and division).
Ability to communicate effectively with individuals with diverse personalities and communication styles.
Retail sales experience is preferred.
Must have reliable transportation.

Responsibilities

Greet customers and assist with questions to create a positive shopping experience.
Operate electronic cash registers and POS systems to process transactions.
Explain and enroll customers in Loyalty Rewards Program.
Promote Change Round Up to support GWH’s mission.
Move merchandise to appropriate floor areas and keep shelves stocked and organized.
Maintain a clean, attractive, and safe sales floor and cash wrap area.
Perform housekeeping and janitorial duties as assigned.
Support store safety and security for staff and customers.
