Job summary

M&T Bank Corporation in Catonsville, MD is seeking a Branch Customer Service Associate to deliver exceptional service at the teller line and in person. You will balance transactions, assist customers with account services, and promote digital solutions to meet immediate needs.

In this role you will greet customers, handle cash and basic transactions, document issues, and collaborate with banking partners to connect customers to the right solutions.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED with at least 6 months customer service experience.
• Strong verbal communication and interpersonal skills.
• Ability to deliver exceptional customer service and stay organized.
• Proficient with internet-based technology and data entry.
• Ability to stand for long periods and lift up to 30 lbs.

Responsibilities

• Provide differentiated customer service by understanding needs and delivering solutions.
• Educate customers through shoulder-to-shoulder digital demonstrations; identify self-service opportunities.
• Actively engage in lobby management, greeting customers and addressing needs.
• Balance and process customer transactions accurately following bank policy.
• Take ownership of escalated account services issues and log complaints.
• Refer sales opportunities to appropriate banking partner.
• Handle branch ops: cash orders, vault, ATM, wire transfers.
• Process maintenance and AML/KYC related activities; ensure compliance.
• Promote M&T brand and maintain internal controls.
