Position Description
You will be responsible for performing custodial work for the locations assigned, and upkeep of the exterior grounds to ensure cleanliness and safety, including snow and ice removal in winter months. This position's work hours are 3:30p-Midnight. Salary Anticipated starting salary range is: $24.84 - 32.05/hour, depending on qualifications. Work Location: This position currently works on-site only.
Job Duties and Responsibilities
- Perform cleaning according to schedule to meet standards: Entrances, Restrooms, Lobbies, Locker Rooms, Shower Areas, Office Areas, Common Areas, Conference Rooms, Storage Areas.
- Change lamps as required and ensure storage and supply areas are maintained and secure.
- Respond to emergency cleaning needs as directed.
- Conduct project cleaning such as deep carpet and floor cleaning, restroom and locker room sanitation, and detailed cleaning tasks.
- Perform light maintenance on exterior grounds: sweeping, snow and ice removal, trash removal, landscaping upkeep.
- Operate cleaning equipment including vacuums, extractors, scrubbers, power washers, and others as listed.
- Work independently in a non-supervised environment, following OSHA and CIMS standards, and maintain safety protocols with PPE.
- Lift and move objects up to 75 pounds as necessary.
Minimum Qualifications
- Ability to read, write, follow instructions, and perform simple math in English.
- At least 1 year of custodial or housekeeping experience.
- Valid Driver's License.
Selection Process
Includes rating of experience and training, possibly an oral or written exam, with a minimum passing score of 70%. The process may be limited to certain applicants based on departmental needs.

- Criminal background check by Minneapolis Police Department.

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities
- Knowledge of green cleaning chemicals and methods, proper equipment operation, OSHA safety guidelines.
- Ability to operate various cleaning machinery and perform custodial functions to meet quality standards.
- Ability to understand instructions, create and maintain records, and lift heavy objects.
