Position Description: The Municipal Building Commission is seeking 2 Custodian Positions. The MBC is looking for custodians to perform routine cleaning duties in the Minneapolis City Hall Building and Adult Detention Center. This position works Monday through Friday, 4:00 PM - 12:00 AM, with a night shift differential of $1.25 per hour and an additional $0.70 per hour when working in the ADC, in addition to the hourly rate listed above. Wages are subject to increase due to current contract negotiations. The schedule includes Wednesday to Friday, 4:00 PM - 12:00 AM, and Saturday to Sunday, 3:00 PM - 11:00 PM.
About the MBC: The MBC has served as the steward for the historic Minneapolis City Hall and Hennepin County Courthouse since 1904. It was created by Minnesota Statutes as an independent board for the care of these buildings.

Physical Requirements include prolonged standing, bending, stooping, twisting, pushing, pulling, reaching, kneeling, crawling, squatting, climbing, and lifting up to 50 pounds.
Background checks through Minneapolis Police Department and Hennepin County Sheriff's Office are required. A medical examination, including a physical screening and drug test, must be passed after a conditional offer.
This position is covered by a collective bargaining agreement with AFSCME and has a six-month probationary period.
