Job summary

Sussex County Community College seeks a part-time Custodian to maintain clean and safe facilities across the campus. The role reports to the Custodial Supervisor and supports general cleaning, as well as setup for events and special projects.

Shifts include Tue–Fri 9:00am–2:00pm and 9:00pm, plus Saturday 9:00am–1:00pm, with up to 24 hours per week. Requirements include a high school diploma, ability to lift 40 pounds, and a valid driver’s license.

Responsibilities

• Read, write and communicate effectively with all levels of the organization.

• Perform floor care duties, such as buffing and carpet cleaning.
• Remove trash and debris for general custodial duties and during special projects.
• Set up and breakdown for scheduled events per work orders.
• Report supply orders and maintenance needs to Custodial Supervisor.

Sussex County Community College is seeking a part time Custodian. The part time Custodian will report to the Custodial Supervisor and will be responsible for general cleaning activities, special project set ups and summer assignments.

AM Position - Tuesday - Friday 9:00am - 2:00pm - 9:00pm and Saturday 9:00am - 1:00pm

SPECIFIC RESPONSIBILITIES:

• Ability to read, write and communicate effectively with all levels of the organization.
• Knowledge of the practices, methods, tools, equipment, and materials of custodial functions. Ability to operate standard cleaning equipment.
• Perform floor care duties such as buffing, waxing, and carpet cleaning.
• Remove trash and other debris for general custodial duties as well as special project (such as moving furniture)
• Perform set ups and break downs of scheduled events as per work orders.
• Reports supply orders to Custodial Supervisor.
• Reports needs for minor repairs to Custodial Supervisor.
• Follow all health and safety guidelines to ensure you are your team members are free from injury.
• Perform other duties as assigned.

EDUCATION -

• High School Graduate or equivalent
