Job summary

Jackson School District is seeking a full-time Custodian for the 3:00 p.m. – 11:00 p.m. shift. This 40-hour work week is within the Teamsters bargaining group and offers on-site employment with training provided.

No prior experience is required; training will be provided. The role requires lifting up to 75 pounds and performing routine cleaning of floors, restrooms, dispensers, and trash, with additional duties as assigned. A valid NJ Driver's License is required.

Qualifications

• No experience required; training provided.
• Must be able to lift 75 pounds and perform periodic bending, squatting, and standing for long periods.
• Must have or obtain a black seal license within one year.

Responsibilities

• Cleans floors of classrooms, offices, corridors, stairways, and cafeteria areas.
• Sweeps, mops, vacuums, and maintains cleanliness of restrooms and drinking fountains.
• Fills dispensers, removes trash, and performs related custodial tasks as assigned.
• Performs other duties as directed by Custodial Foreman or Night Supervisor.

Applicants must be able to perform the duties required below

No experience necessary, we will train

Must have valid NJ Drivers License

• Cleans floors of classrooms, offices, special rooms, corridors, stairs, entrances, lobbies and cafeteria, as assigned
• Sweeps, dry mops, wet mops, vacuums, floors
• Cleans and disinfects the drinking fountains, bathroom floors, bowls, seats, and urinals in restrooms on a daily basis as assigned
• Fills paper and soap dispensers in assigned areas, as needed
• Removes trash as assigned
• Ability to lift 75 pounds at least 20% of the time; bend, lift, squat, crawl, climb stairs and ladders, shovel snow, stand for long periods of time
• Performs other duties that may be assigned by the Custodial Foreman or Custodial Night Supervisor
• Must have or get black seal license within one year
