Job summary

Jackson School District is seeking part-time custodians to maintain cleanliness in classrooms, offices, corridors and cafeteria areas. Training is provided, and flexibility with 28 hours per week is required.

Applicants must have a valid NJ Driver's License and are encouraged to obtain a Black Seal license within one year. Lifting up to 75 pounds and performing physical duties are expected in this role.

Qualifications

• No prior experience required; training provided.
• Must have valid NJ Driver's License.
• Must obtain Black Seal license within 12 months.
• Able to lift 75 pounds and perform physical duties.

Responsibilities

• Clean floors of classrooms, offices, corridors and cafeteria as assigned.
• Sweep, dry mop, wet mop and vacuum floors.
• Clean and disinfect restroom areas daily.
• Refill paper and soap dispensers as needed.
• Remove trash as assigned.
• Perform other duties assigned by supervisor.

Job description

This is a Part-Time position(2 positions needed)

Pay Rate: $19.48/hr

Hours: 28 hours/week

5.5 hours 4 days/week , 6.0 hours 1 day/week

Applicants must be able to perform the duties required below

No experience necessary, we will train

Must have valid NJ Drivers License

Job Duties Expected:

• Cleans floors of classrooms, offices, special rooms, corridors, stairs, entrances, lobbies and cafeteria, as assigned


• Sweeps, dry mops, wet mops, vacuums, floors


• Cleans and disinfects the drinking fountains, bathroom floors, bowls, seats, and urinals in restrooms on a daily basis as assigned


• Fills paper and soap dispensers in assigned areas, as needed


• Removes trash as assigned


• Ability to lift 75 pounds at least 20% of the time; bend, lift, squat, crawl, climb stairs and ladders, shovel snow, stand for long periods of time


• Performs other duties that may be assigned by the Custodial Foreman or Custodial Night Supervisor


• Must have or get black seal license within one year
