Job summary

Harford County Public Schools is seeking a Custodian I for Shift 2 at Joppatowne High School. Responsibilities include routine cleaning, maintenance of buildings, grounds, and equipment, and support for cafeteria and snow removal tasks.

Minimum ninth grade education required, with preference for a high school diploma or GED. Lifting up to 50 pounds and ladder access may be involved; a valid driver's license may be required.

Qualifications

• Physically able to perform essential duties, including lifting up to 50 pounds and climbing ladders.

Responsibilities

• Sweep and clean floors in classrooms, offices, corridors and other areas as assigned.
• Operate custodial equipment such as mops, vacuums, buffers and scrubbers.
• Collect and dispose of trash and maintain clean lavatories and windows.
• Assist in loading supplies and moving furniture as needed.
• Respond to emergencies and assist in snow removal and grounds maintenance.
