Harford County Public Schools is seeking a Custodian I for Harford Technical High School to perform cleaning, maintenance, and upkeep of facilities as part of a dedicated 12-month team. The role requires basic education, custodial experience, and physical stamina to lift up to 50 pounds and climb ladders as needed.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED preferred.
• Minimum ninth grade education required.
• One year of custodial experience preferred.
• Physically able to perform duties including lifting up to 50 pounds and climbing ladders.
• May be required to hold and maintain a valid driver’s license.

Responsibilities

• Selects equipment and cleans floors across classrooms, offices, corridors and other assigned areas.
• Uses custodial equipment such as brooms, mops, vacuums, buffers and scrubbers.
• Collects and disposes of trash and materials; moves furniture as needed.
• Lifts and moves items weighing up to 50 pounds and operates ladders or lifts as required.
• Maintains cleanliness of lavatories, floors and surfaces; reports repair needs.
