Job summary

Harford County Public Schools is seeking a Custodian I for Shift 2 at Joppatowne High School. Responsibilities include routine cleaning, maintenance, and upkeep of buildings, grounds, and equipment.

The position is full-time with a salary range starting at $35,602 and up to $49,706, with advancement based on the AFSCME schedule. Qualified applicants will have a high school diploma or GED preferred, or at least ninth-grade education with the ability to read and follow written instructions.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED preferred, or ninth grade education minimum with ability to read and follow instructions.
• Experience in custodial, mechanical trade or related area preferred.

Responsibilities

• Selects equipment and cleans floors in classrooms, offices, and corridors.
• Operates custodial machines and tools such as vacuums, buffers, and mops.
• Collects and disposes of trash; moves furniture and supplies as needed.
• Maintains cleanliness of lavatories and wash areas; cleans windows and fixtures.
• Assists in snow removal and lawn/playground maintenance as required.
• Responds to emergencies and performs other duties as assigned.
