Job summary

The University of Iowa Health Care is seeking a Custodian I to maintain a safe, clean environment for patients, visitors, and staff. The role focuses on cleaning kitchens and dining areas and is based at the North Liberty Campus on a full-time schedule.

Responsibilities include general cleaning, trash removal, restroom sanitation, and use of various custodial equipment. Prior healthcare cleaning experience is desirable, with a strong emphasis on following directions and safety.

The University of Iowa Healthcare department of Environmental Services is seeking a Custodian to provide a safe, clean and healthy environment for patients, guests, visitors and staff of The University of Iowa Health Care. While supporting the EVS department as a whole, your primary duties will be to clean the kitchen and dining areas. This position will be assigned at our North Liberty Campus.

Characteristic Duties and Responsibilities:

• General cleaning
• Trash removal
• Stock supplies for cart and custodial area
• Clean and disinfect restrooms/ refill restroom supplies
• Dusting, vacuuming, sweeping, and damp mopping hard surface floors
• Carpet cleaning
• Unit/bed making
• Wall & ceiling washing
• Furniture moves and room setups
• Use various types of custodial equipment in performance of duties
• Other tasks and duties as assigned

This position is performed fully on campus.

Percent of time: 100%

Schedule: Sunday - Thursday 11:00pm - 7:30am

Salary: $17.66/hour
