Job summary

The University of Iowa Health Care Downtown Campus is seeking a Custodian I to provide a safe, clean, and healthy environment for patients, guests, visitors and staff. This 100% on-campus, 1st shift role offers a starting salary of $17.66 per hour.

Responsibilities include stocking supplies, cleaning restrooms, dusting, vacuuming, wall washing, furniture setup and other custodial tasks. UIowa Health Care provides benefits and opportunities for growth.

The University of Iowa Health Care Downtown Campus department of Environmental Services is seeking a Custodian to provide a safe, clean and healthy environment for patients, guests, visitors and staff. University of Iowa Health Care Medical Center Downtown (located at 500 E. Market Street, Iowa City, IA) is a 194-bed hospital that became part of Iowa’s only comprehensive academic health system on Jan. 31, 2024.

Characteristic Duties and Responsibilities

• Stock supplies for cart and custodial area
• Clean and disinfect restrooms/ refill restroom supplies
• Dusting, vacuuming, sweeping, and damp mopping hard surface floors
• Wall & ceiling washing
• Furniture moves and room setups
• Use various types of custodial equipment in performance of duties
• Other tasks and duties as assigned

This position is performed fully on campus.
