Job summary

The University of Iowa Health Care's Environmental Services is seeking a Custodian to provide a safe, clean, and healthy environment for patients, guests, visitors and staff on campus in Iowa City. This full-time position offers a comprehensive benefits package and a 2:00 pm–10:30 pm schedule with rotating weekends/holidays.

Salary is $17.66/hour. The role requires experience in healthcare settings and the ability to use cleaning equipment as part of 24/7 operations support.

Characteristic Duties and Responsibilities

• Stock supplies for cart and custodial area
• Clean and disinfect restrooms/ refill restroom supplies
• Dusting, vacuuming, sweeping, and damp mopping hard surface floors
• Wall & ceiling washing
• Furniture moves and room setups
• Use various types of custodial equipment in performance of duties
• Other tasks and duties as assigned

This position is performed fully on campus.

We as a department are responsible for the upkeep and cleaning of over 2.8 million square feet of the hospital. The department provides support through 24/7 operations.
