The opportunity

Delaware North Parks and Resorts is hiring full–time Custodians to join our team at Kennedy Space Center in Merritt Island, Florida. As a Custodian, you will be responsible for performing custodial duties such as dusting, mopping, vacuuming, cleaning restrooms, restocking paper and soap supplies, and keeping the property neat, clean, and free from clutter.

What will you do?

• Sweep and clean facilities including bathrooms, carpets, walls, windows, break rooms, offices, empty trash, replace liners, dusting, and all other duties as assigned.
• Pressure wash concrete surfaces and operate commercial cleaning equipment as needed.
• Stock closets and replenish paper products in the restrooms.
• Report any visible defects to the on-duty supervisor and implement process improvements.
• Respond to guest inquiries providing accurate courteous information.
• Train in safety awareness and follow safety and environmental business practices.
• Drive a company vehicle around the property as needed.

More about you

• Must be at least 18 years old to apply.
• Must have a valid driver’s license, a clean driving record, and reliable transportation.
• 6 months experience in custodial and related services preferred.
• Must be able to read, comprehend, and follow written instructions.
• Must be able to pass a background check and receive a NASA ID badge.

Physical requirements

• Ability to lift up to 40 or more pounds.
• Must have the ability to reach above head level.
• May be required to work twelve to fifty feet (or more) above the ground on ladders or high lift or scissor lifts.
• Ability to stand and walk for extended periods.
• May be required to work in hot and humid conditions.
• Must be able to work inside and outside with exposure to heat, dirt, noise, fumes, wetness, paint, and solvents.
