Position reports to: General Manager

OTO Development is pleased to announce a wonderful opportunity for a Watchman.

What will you be doing most days?

• Be an ambassador of good will and provide outstanding guest service to all visitors and employees of the hotel
• Greet guests warmly, offer advice, and guidance regarding the hotel
• Assist with lockouts, malfunctioning keys, and other operational issues
• Ensure all guests receive directions on how to reach their intended destinations
• Act as first responder to all guest and employee accidents and injuries on the hotel property
• Administer first aid, contact emergency services if needed
• Secure first report of injury in case of employee injuries
• Monitor the hotel premises to ensure safety and security of guests, employees, and assets
• Take immediate steps to correct safety hazards and cleanliness issues while responding to hazards: manmade, technological, or natural
• Identify and engage suspicious persons who may disrupt hotel operations, limit liability, and summon law enforcement as needed
• Field all security calls and dispatch appropriately
• Liaise with emergency services when appropriate
• Escalate issues in a timely and professional manner to relevant personnel or agencies

What are the requirements for this position?

• You must be 21 years or older and have a valid (state) driver’s license
• Good understanding of English
• Prior experience in private security or law enforcement is desirable
• Excellent oral, written, and interpersonal communication skills
• Ability to prepare written reports and logs in neat, legible handwriting
• Decent computer and technology skills
• Provide excellent customer service and maintain professionalism
• Work well under pressure
• Excellent listening skills to understand guest wishes

Physical Requirements

Must be able to walk and stand for extended periods as required.

Travel Requirements

Up to 10% travel, including outside local area and overnight.
