Position Purpose
Responsible for maintaining the cleanliness of office spaces and common spaces across campus.
Essential Responsibilities and Duties
- Remove office and building trash
- Wash windows, clean showers, bathrooms, and public areas using wet/dry mop, vacuum cleaner, cleaning cloths and cleaning solutions
- Follow safety instructions and procedures related to clothing, gloves, goggles, masks and use of cleaning chemicals
- Cleans, strips and waxes tile and floors
- Shampoo and extract carpeting
- Maintain vacuums and other equipment by installing new vacuum bags and mop heads and moving equipment as necessary
- Remove snow from entryways and walkways
- Assist with special events including table and chair setup
- Pitches in to assist colleagues when needed
Qualifications
- Physical ability to lift moderately heavy items (up to 50 lbs.) and stand, bend and stoop for extended periods
- Safety conscious with ability to read, write and understand written and verbal instructions
- Ability to work on weekends and have two weekdays off
- Full‑time employees must participate in an on‑call rotation to support campus operations during evenings, weekends, and emergencies as needed
- Valid NYS driver’s license with a clean driving record
- Ability to foster an inclusive, diverse and culturally vibrant community and promote belonging among students, faculty, staff and alumni
Compensation
Hourly rate: $16.00.
