Job summary

AAFES is seeking a motivated Janitorial Associate at Fort Meade to perform interior cleaning and custodial duties across Exchange facilities using industrial equipment and ladders. The role emphasizes maintaining a clean, safe environment and supporting customer-facing operations.

Under general supervision, you will operate cleaning machinery, follow safety protocols, and assist with basic maintenance tasks while contributing to customer experience and facility upkeep.

Qualifications

• At least elementary education is required.
• Experience may substitute education on a 9 months for 9 months basis.

Responsibilities

• Perform janitorial and custodial duties to maintain interior appearance and cleanliness using industrial equipment; ladders/scaffolds.
• Operate ladders/scaffolds safely and follow safety standards while cleaning.

Job description

Under general supervision, performs a variety of janitorial and custodial duties which are related to the general appearance and cleanliness of the interior of Exchange facilities, using industrial type powered equipment and ladders/scaffolds. Actively communicates/promotes the benefits of the Military Star Credit Card to customers in order to drive sales growth and increase customer loyalty

Job Qualifications

Education: Elementary school. Creditable job-related experience maybe substituted for the education requirement on a 9 months for 9 months basis.

If a sufficient number of qualified candidates do not apply, the minimum qualifications may be lowered without reposting.
