Job summary

Aafes is seeking a Food Preparation & Service associate at the Columbus AFB location in Mississippi. The role supports heat-and-eat and QSR operations, ensuring food items are prepared, stocked, and presented to guests.

It also covers stocking, inventory control, cash handling, and customer service. You will promote the Military Star Credit Card and assist customers with purchases while maintaining sanitation and accuracy.

Qualifications

• Education: High school diploma or equivalent; creditable job-related experience may substitute for education.
• If a sufficient number of qualified candidates do not apply, the minimum qualifications may be lowered without reposting.

Responsibilities

• Operates ovens, roller grills, and similar kitchen equipment following established procedures.
• Heats, assembles, and prepares food items to support heat-and-eat and QSR operations.
• Ensures condiments and complimentary food items are stocked and available during service periods.
• Stocks grab-and-go and quick-heat items as needed.
• Maintains sanitation and cleanliness standards in food preparation areas, service areas, and on all equipment utilized.
• Transports merchandise from stockroom to sales floor and replenishes stock in a neat and presentable manner.
• Conducts periodic inventory counts.
• Reports out-of-stock, slow-moving, defective, or damaged merchandise to management.
• Performs random price verification checks and initiates corrective actions as instructed.
• Stocks food, beverage, and retail supplies before service periods and replenishes inventory throughout shifts.
• Assists in maintaining accurate and up-to-date retail shelf labels.
• Maintains required documentation, including returned inventory logs, daily cash reports, and other related records.
• Operates cash registers and other point-of-sale (POS) equipment.
• Processes sales transactions, accepts payments, makes change, and handles cash, credit card, and check transactions.
• May establish new customer accounts, process refunds, and perform other transactional duties as directed.
• Provides a high level of customer satisfaction through consistent and exceptional service.
• Greets customers promptly upon contact or line of sight.
• Actively listens to customer needs and provides solutions to enhance satisfaction and loyalty.
• Builds trust and fosters a welcoming environment that supports a personalized customer experience.
• Resolves customer concerns at the lowest possible level and communicates obstacles to management when necessary.
• Actively promotes the benefits of the Military Star Credit Card to customers to drive sales growth and increase customer loyalty.

Job Qualifications
