Job summary

The Waterford at Fairfield, a Sonida Senior Living community, is seeking a Culinary Services Cook to join our caregiving team. You will plan, prepare, and serve nutritious meals in a sanitary, timely manner, supporting residents with dignity and respect.

Responsibilities include assisting the Culinary Services Director, maintaining dining standards, and ensuring safe food handling. Training is provided, and benefits support ongoing education and work-life balance.

Qualifications

• High School graduate or equivalent.
• Food Service Sanitation Certificate as per State/Local requirements.
• Experience with volume meal preparation and serving for large groups.
• Some supervisory experience preferred; strong reading of recipes and teamwork.

Responsibilities

• Plans, prepares, and serves attractive, nutritious meals in an organized, timely, and sanitary manner.
• Assists the Culinary Services Director in maintaining an organized and efficient Dining Services department.
• Prepares and serves meals for assigned shifts.
• Maintains standards for dining services to Residents, including efficient meal service delivery and service quality.
• Cleans after preparation and service; cleans work areas, pots and equipment.
• Ensures leftovers are covered, labeled, dated and stored properly.

Culinary Services Cook Responsibilities Include

• Plans, prepares, and serves attractive, nutritious meals in an organized, timely, and sanitary manner.


• Assists the Culinary Services Director in maintaining a well-organized and efficient Dining Services department.


• Prepares and serves meals for assigned shifts.


• Maintains standards for dining services to the Residents to include efficient meal service delivery, customer service and cleanliness of the dining room and kitchen.


• Clean after preparation and service; work area, pots and equipment.


• Ensures all leftovers are covered, labeled, dated and stored in the proper place.

Qualifications

• High School graduate or equivalent.


• Must possess Food Service Sanitation Certificate as per State/Local requirements.


• High Experience and/or knowledge of volume meal preparation and serving for large groups.


• Some supervisory experience preferred. Ability to read and understand recipes, work in a team environment, work flexible shifts, handle multiple tasks at one time and communicate effectively verbally and/or in writing
