Job summary

Waterford at Decatur, a Sonida Senior Living community in Decatur, Georgia, seeks a Culinary Services Cook to plan, prepare, and serve nutritious meals in a sanitary, timely manner, supporting the Culinary Services Director and maintaining an organized dining operation.

Qualifications include a High School diploma or equivalent and a Food Service Sanitation Certificate; experience with high-volume meal prep and some supervision is preferred.

Qualifications

• High School diploma or equivalent required.
• Food Service Sanitation Certificate required per state/local requirements.
• Experience with high-volume meal preparation and serving for large groups.
• Some supervisory experience preferred; ability to read and understand recipes, work in a team, work flexible shifts, handle multiple tasks, and communicate effectively.

Responsibilities

• Plans, prepares, and serves attractive, nutritious meals in an organized, timely, and sanitary manner.
• Assists the Culinary Services Director in maintaining a well-organized and efficient Dining Services department.
• Prepares and serves meals for assigned shifts.
• Maintains standards for dining services to Residents including efficient meal service, customer service, and cleanliness of dining room and kitchen.
• Cleans after preparation and service; maintains work areas, pots, and equipment.
• Ensures leftovers are covered, labeled, dated and stored properly.

Culinary Services CookResponsibilities include:

Qualifications:

• High School graduate or equivalent.
• Must possess Food Service Sanitation Certificate as per State/Local requirements.
• High Experience and/or knowledge of volume meal preparation and serving for large groups.
• Some supervisory experience preferred. Ability to read and understand recipes, work in a team environment, work flexible shifts, handle multiple tasks at one time and communicate effectively verbally and/or in writing
