Job summary

Ohio Living is seeking a Chef/Production Manager to lead the Culinary and Nutritional Services in a long-term care setting. This role organizes the department, supervises recipe development, and ensures safety, quality, and compliance with dietary plans for residents.

The position requires five years in food service management, plus a Culinary/ServSafe background, and strong budgeting, planning, and team leadership capabilities.

Qualifications

• Associate degree in culinary, hospitality, nutritional services, or related field.
• Five years experience in direct food service operational management.
• Experience in supervision in a long-term care facility, hospital, or related medical facility preferred.
• Knowledge of dietary practices/therapy and regulations.
• Strong cooking methods knowledge, sanitation, and presentation.
• Experience in menu planning, food cost control, inventory management.
• Financial management and budgetary accounting skills required.
• Proficiency with Windows and Microsoft Office; POS and diet software proficiency.
• Must read, write, speak and understand English; valid driver’s license.

Responsibilities

• Organizes and directs the Culinary and Nutritional Services Department and its activities.
• Supervises and assists in recipe development following planned menus and standard recipes.
• Maintains culinary services and clinical nutritional policies and procedures.
• Staffs department and schedules to meet service needs.
• Develops methods to ensure quality and quantity of food served.
• Manages stock levels and purchasing/inventory processes.
• Ensures dietary needs are met per diet orders in the Plan of Care.
• Maintains clean, safe portions of kitchen areas and equipment.
• Plans and executes catering needs and special events.
• All other duties as assigned.
