Job summary

Compass Group USA, in partnership with FLIK, invites applications for the Culinary Intern position with the New Orleans Pelicans in New Orleans, LA. This paid internship offers hands-on kitchen experience across FOH and BOH stations, with duties including food preparation, guest engagement, and adherence to service standards.

Interns will rotate through stations such as pizza, deli, salad bar, or grill, receive mentorship, training, and opportunities to attend internal development courses.

Qualifications

• Must be currently enrolled in a college or university pursuing Hospitality Management and/or Culinary Arts.
• GPA requirements for Internship as determined by university.
• Sanitation standards training completed.
• Knife skills coursework or introductory culinary coursework completed.
• Available to work 20–40 hours per week according to internship needs.

Responsibilities

• Rotate through FOH and BOH stations (Pizza, deli, salad bar, grill) depending on location.
• Engage with guests and tailor plates to dietary needs.
• Meet with team dietitian and review culinary and front-of-house standards.
• Participate in wellness and sustainability initiatives and maintain safety protocols.
• Assist with catering events and develop professional relationships within the team.
• Contribute individually and as a team to support Culinary Services and goals.
