Job summary

Arrow Senior Living in Springfield, IL is seeking a part-time Cook to join our resident-focused culinary team. You will prepare menu items according to recipes, ensure health protocols, and provide meals that are attractively presented in a timely fashion. This role offers the chance to grow, with internal promotions and a comprehensive benefits package.

Shift is 6:30am to 1:30pm, Monday and Sunday. You must be at least 18, have a Food Handlers Card, and the stamina to stand and lift up to 50

Qualifications

• Must be able to read, write, understand and communicate in English with residents.
• Current Food Handlers Card as per the Department of Health.
• Demonstrated leadership, training and supervision abilities.
• Proficient written and oral communication with staff and management.
• Able to stand/walk for extended periods and lift up to 50 pounds.

Responsibilities

• Culinary Craftsman: Prepare all menu items per established recipes with quality and timely presentation.
• Mess prevention: Follow health protocols, hygiene, proper temperatures, and food safety.
• Culinary Connector: Engage with residents to learn preferences and participate in orientations.
