Job summary

Sur La Table in Wichita is seeking a Kitchen Assistant to support our chefs, engage guests, and maintain a clean, organized kitchen. You will help run classes smoothly, assist with mise en place, and contribute to a friendly, guest-obsessed environment.

You will collaborate with team members, follow food-safety standards, and adapt to a fast-paced retail-kitchen setting. Prior experience in retail or food prep is preferred, and a Food Handlers Certification is required.

Qualifications

• 18 years of age or older.
• 1 year retail sales experience preferred.
• 1 year food prep and/or kitchen operations experience preferred.
• Valid Food Handlers Certification.
• Excellent communication, problem-solving, and decision-making abilities.
• Passion for community engagement and providing exceptional customer experiences.

Responsibilities

• Represent Sur La Table’s brand by creating memorable, educational experiences for customers.
• Maintain product knowledge and participate in ongoing training.
• Lead a customer-focused, Guest Obsessed culture on the floor and in the kitchen.
• Assist chefs with class execution to drive enrollment and positive feedback.
• Drive class revenue by high enrollment, positive reviews, and guest return rates.
• Set up and break down classes, prep ingredients, and keep workstations clean.
• Ensure food safety standards and sanitation compliance.
