Job summary

Sur La Table is seeking a Kitchen Assistant to support chefs during classes, engage with guests, and maintain a clean, organized kitchen and retail environment. You will contribute to a guest-focused experience and help achieve class enrollment and revenue goals.

The role requires 18+ years of age, retail and food prep experience, and a Food Handler Certification. A collaborative team and flexible schedule are valued at this location.

Qualifications

• Must be 18 years or older at time of employment.
• 1 year retail sales experience preferred.
• 1 year food prep and/or kitchen operations experience preferred.
• Valid Food Handlers Certification.
• Excellent communication, problem-solving, and decision-making abilities.
• Passion for community engagement and providing exceptional customer experiences.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and retail systems preferred.

Responsibilities

• Represent Sur La Table’s brand and culture by creating memorable, educational experiences for customers.
• Stay current on products through training and self-study.
• Maintain guest-focused, ‘Guest Obsessed’ culture on kitchen and retail floors.
• Assist chefs with class execution to drive repeat visits and positive feedback.
• Help meet class revenue goals through high enrollment and positive reviews.
• Set up and breakdown of classes, organize mise en place, prep ingredients, and clean workstations.
• Clean and sanitize dishes and equipment promptly to ensure smooth kitchen operations.
• Restock, organize, and maintain kitchen supplies and tools.
