Job summary

Sur La Table in White Plains is seeking a Kitchen Assistant to support chefs during cooking classes and in‑store experiences. You will help with mise en place, food prep, and maintaining a clean, organized kitchen environment while engaging guests.

The ideal candidate has at least 1 year of retail or food-prep experience, excellent communication, and a passion for hospitality. This part-time role offers flexible scheduling, including nights, weekends, and holidays.

Qualifications

• Minimum 1 year in retail sales and/or customer-facing roles.
• Minimum 1 year of food prep or kitchen operations experience.
• Excellent communication and problem-solving abilities.

Responsibilities

• Represent Sur La Table’s brand by delivering memorable, guest-focused experiences.
• Assist chefs with class execution to drive enrollment and positive feedback.
• Maintain compliance with food safety standards and sanitation.
• Set up and breakdown classes, prep ingredients, and clean workstations.
• Support store operations and restock kitchen supplies.
