Job summary

Jaybird Senior Living is seeking a Culinary Assistant to support dining room, kitchen, and dish areas under the Culinary Coordinator. The role focuses on delivering high-quality dining experiences for residents while ensuring cleanliness, food safety, and regulatory compliance.

The position emphasizes teamwork, adherence to procedures, and participation in scheduled activities and events, with an emphasis on HIPAA confidentiality and state regulations.

Qualifications

• High school student (14+) pursuing a diploma; state regulations apply.
• Good communication, organizational, and listening skills.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team.

Responsibilities

• Prepare and set up the dining room for meals and serve residents.
• Transport food to other dining areas and assist with table setup/clearing.
• Wash dishes and clean kitchen and dining spaces per schedule.
• Maintain sanitation and hygiene, PPE use, and hair/hand protection rules.
• Report unsafe conditions and respond to alarms or emergencies.
• Participate in staff meetings and in-service trainings.
• Assist with events and activities as requested.
• Complete incident reports and uphold resident confidentiality (HIPAA).
• Follow all Policies & Procedures and state assisted living regulations.
