Jaybird Senior Living is seeking a Culinary Assistant to support the kitchen, dining room, dish room, and related areas under the Culinary Coordinator. The role focuses on providing residents with high-quality dining experiences while ensuring cleanliness, food safety, and regulatory compliance.

Qualifications

• Must be a high school student 14+ working toward a diploma.
• Must comply with state employment regulations.
• Excellent communication, organizational, and listening skills.
• Calm, friendly demeanor with patience and flexibility.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
• Willingness to accept supervision.
• Prior experience in elderly care or hospitality is preferred.

Responsibilities

• Prepare and set up the dining room for meals; serve residents and transport food as needed.
• Set and clear tables, wash dishes, and clean kitchen and dining spaces per schedule.
• Maintain sanitation and hygiene, including use of PPE and hair/hand protection regulations.
• Report unsafe conditions and respond to alarms or emergencies.
• Attend staff meetings and in-services; participate in safety committees.
• Assist with scheduled activities and special events as requested.
• Follow all policies and procedures and comply with state regulations for assisted living.
